Men’s breast surgery (Gynecomastia)
Gynecomastia is a phenomenon that occurs in some men as a buildup of tissue in the breast area. In some cases, this problem is caused by certain diseases or the use of certain medications, but in most cases it occurs genetically and without any underlying cause. Men who have accumulated breast tissue are the best candidates for gynecomastia or breast reduction surgery. However, before surgery, the patient should be examined for internal causes of gynecomastia.
Operation technique
Gynecomastia or breast enlargement in men is divided into four grades 1, 2, 3 and 4 based on the amount of excess breast and skin tissue. The surgical technique is performed in two ways, open and closed. In almost all gynecomastia surgeries, we use the closed method and the use of advanced liposuction technology (VASER Lipo).
In this technique, by making a three-millimeter hole in the line below the breast or around the nipple areola complex, the extra breast tissue is completely liquefaction and removed using ultrasound.
Duration of surgery
The duration of gynecomastia surgery or breast reduction varies depending on the size of the breast and its classification, but takes an average of 2 to 3 hours.
Anesthesia
Gynecomastia surgery or breast reduction can be performed under local anesthesia and induction IV Sedation or general anesthesia.
Inpatient / outpatient status
You will be discharged after full consciousness and will not need to be hospitalized.

Recovery
The day after surgery, bathing is not prohibited. After surgery, you should use special garment to quick recovery and minimize the possibility of fluid buildup in the area. Swelling and bruising in the surgical area will go away in 1 to 2 weeks. Return to daily work after one week is not prohibited, but the patient should avoid strenuous physical activity for the first 2 months after surgery.
